Loading data on Russian Railways network in January - April 2017According to the figures, published on the company’s website, the network owned by Russian Railways for 8 month of 2017 loaded 833.5 mln t of freight, which is 3% more than in the same period last year, including 106.2 mln t (+0.4%) which is loaded in August.

Freight turnover since the beginning of the year amounted 1.6 trln tariff ton-km (+6.9%), freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs amounted 2.09 trln ton-km (+6.5%).
For August 2017 freight turnover amounted 208.2 bn tariff ton-km (+4.9%), freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs amounted 265.1 bn ton-km (+4.9%).

In Jan-Aug’17, Russian Railways loaded the following freight:
234.4 mln t of coal (+9.5%, y-o-y);
156.7 mln t of crude and oil products (the same of the previous year);
90.2 mln t of construction materials (-7.8%);
73.3 mln t of iron and manganese ores (+0.2%);
47.7 mln t of ferrous metal (+0.3%);
38 mln t of chemical and mineral fertilisers (+8.4%);
30 mln t of timber (+3.6%);
24.4 mln t of industrial raw materials and molding materials (+7.1%);
18.5 mln t of cement (-1.1%);
17.3 mln t of chemicals and soda (+2%);
13.8 mln t of non-ferrous ores and sulphur feedstock (-3.2%);
12.4 mln t of grain (+10.9%);
9.9 mln t of ferrous metal scrap (+3.7%);
7.5 mln t of coke (-2.7%).

For 8 month of 2017, the infrastructure owned by Russian Railways carried 735.3 mln passengers (+9.3% y-o-y), which of suburban passengers – 665 mln (+10.5%), long-distance passengers – 70.3 mln (-0.7%). For August Russian Railway’s network carried 101.98 mln passengers (+9%), which of suburban – 89.58 mln passengers (+10.8%), long-distance – 12.4 mln (-2.2%).
Passenger turnover since the beginning of the 2017 amounted 85.2 bn passenger-km (-2.3% y-o-y), which of for August – 16.17 bn passenger-km (-4.1%).
